In my illustrious pet-sitting career (not that illustrious, really), I've mostly watched cats. I've fed a few dogs, a hamster, some fish, but I've never actually fed a rabbit. So when Eli and Anne asked me to feed their bunny while they spent the weekend at Blizzcon, I needed extra instructions. Tally and Kita, being cats, were no problem. But I wasn't sure exactly how to take care of Obi-Bun. Eli gave me the verbal run-down, and Anne actually illustrated the process for me. To be extra-sure I didn't fuck it up, I carried some written instructions in my pocket: Hay, pellets, 4 leaves of lettuce (+1 for Kita - yes the cat eats lettuce, don't ask), broken celery stalk, a cucumber, 2 baby carrots, parsley, cilantro, water LOTS of water.
When I got to the house, Kita and Tally looked surprised (and a little offended) to see me. I took care of their food and litter first because it's easy. Then I opened the door to the bunny's room. "Hi Obi!" I squealed as I entered the room. Obi took three skating hops (he's got furry feet and the floors are hardwood) and began to eat my shoe. Holy shit. This rabbit does NOT fuck around with dinner. So much for the pleasantries. I ran to get his food before he could finish off my footwear. I piled his dish high with veggies, replenished hay and pellets, and filled the water jug. I double fed Obi and Kita the lettuce. I didn't think it would, but it's almost impossible NOT to. When Kita was done I shut Obi away in his room again. Then I sat on the couch for a while cuddling and combing Kita. Tally watched us scornfully from the corner.
Note to self: wear non-work shoes when visiting tomorrow.

I cannot believe Charlie woke me up at a quarter to four this morning. He KNOWS breakfast doesn't happen until 5:30. Socks was quite willing to aid him in his quest for food by walking on my body and nesting in my hair. I ended up doing something I haven't done for a LONG time: I kicked them out of my room and closed the door. They seemed to think I wasn't serious and scratched at the door and bumped against it (with their heads presumably) for several minutes before finding something else to do. I did manage to get a little more sleep. I'm really surprised at their behavior, though. However, cats aren't exactly known for being consistent.

What I'm going to do: Go home, change into my workout clothes, go to the gym, run 3 miles on the treadmill, do weights.
What I want to do: Go home, flop on my bed, watch anime and have a cocktail strong enough to strip furniture.
My Id is screaming at me. I'm tuning her out.

Ok, folks. I need your feedback. I'm going to Ireland for 10 days in June. I will be on my feet A LOT, standing and walking. I need walking shoes. My feet are long, narrow and flat. I'm taking any and all recommendations. Price is not the most important thing, comfort is. But cuteness is also a factor! Let me know what you like best!

I got a small package in the mail addressed to "Alek" at my address. It is from International Commercial Awnings, Inc. I giggle. I write "Not at this address" and send it back. LOL.

Living without a computer at home is turning me into a giant slacker. Since I don't have the internet to jump all over, I've been sleeping a lot. I've been staying late at work just to use my computer here a little more! Anyway, I should have it back in a couple of days.
Something funny happened as I was just drifting off to sleep, last night. The television turns on suddenly and turns off just as suddenly. It made me start, but then I remembered something Eli told me a really long time ago, "maybe a bug was crawling across the circuit." So I unplugged the T.V. thinking, "if it turns on while it's unplugged it's officially haunted and I can start trying to charge this ghost rent."

If there's one thing Puxatawnee Phil taught me, it's "Don't Drive Angry."

Me. I'm home. I drove all the way from Sac to S.C. without stopping and no one died. Go me. Too tired to do anything but drag myself, a glass of wine and a knitting project to the bedroom and fall asleep in front of a bad movie. Pix tomorrow. Sleep now.

I'll just reiterate my stance. Cause it's fun:
Copy this sentence into your LiveJournal if you're in a heterosexual marriage/relationship (or if you think you might be someday), and you don't want it "protected" by the bigots who think that gay marriage hurts it somehow.

I swear, I've been really productive today. I've gotten rid of clothes and books and other assorted wank I've been accumulating over the years. This is a great thing. I've been hanging on to a lot of stuff I really didn't need, but somehow convinced myself that I needed. I know I said I'd study today, but I really need to keep with this energy.

I love it when Charlie puts Socks in a headlock and starts licking his ears. Then Socks whines until Charlie lets him go. And it's always at 5:00 when I don't have a camera ready. Sumo kitty morning rumble.

So I'm listening to the Messiah on my ipod.
The chorus "All we like sheep have gone astray," it sounds like the chorus is singing "Oh, we like sheep!" And it's a prancy little tune so I'm thinking of...sheep bouncing around.
Damn it, the funniness doesn't come across in words very well...will find a you tube or something.

Cinnamon Butter Pound Coffee Cake from Costco: delicious and so horribly fattening you don't even want to know.
Smuckers Uncrustables sandwich: Also very fattening (320 calories in 1 little UFO!), but really convenient. If I put one in my purse before going to class, and nibble on it for the next couple hours, I will not get hungry.
That is all.

Man, I'm weak. Hilarious side-note: I don't really like exercising, but I like spending the time with Eli and I like fitting into size 10 jeans. It's the price I pay!

All right! I did it. And I cleaned out all the old drek from my past posts. Honestly, I didn't enjoy reading that stuff. Yeah, I was reminded about a lot of old experiences, I'm glad I had them, but really! Time to let go! It was time for a blog-exfoliation! Now it's time to hunt for things to make into user pics. Hmmm. I'm thinking dorky pictures of my cats.
